The NFL season is almost here, and college football just kicked off. There’s a ton of football to watch, and the Cleveland Browns scouts are already busy scouting players for next year’s draft.
The Browns were reportedly among the teams scouting players during the Clemson versus LSU game on Saturday night. One player that the Browns should be looking at is LSU tight end Trey’Dez Green, according to Chris Easterling.

Green had a pretty solid season opener during the blowout win over Clemson. He recorded four receptions for 58 yards during their victory. Last season, Green recorded 33 receptions for 433 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games as a sophomore at LSU. Green could be an interesting player to watch during the 2026 college season.
The Browns don’t exactly need a tight end, but it’s never a bad idea to add depth to the position. Green is a big target, standing at 6-7 and nearly 250 pounds. He has the size to be a legitimate threat at the professional level, which is likely why a handful of teams could be looking at him.
Cleveland nailed their tight end during last year’s draft when they selected Harold Fannin Jr. in the third round. He came out as a rookie and posted an impressive season. Fannin finished with 72 receptions with 731 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 16 games with the Browns this past season. It was a breakout season for Fannin, who secured the starting tight end job in Cleveland.
Outside of Fannin, the Browns don’t have a ton of depth at the position. Blake Whiteheart is listed as the second-string tight end, while seventh-round rookie Carsen Ryan holds down the third spot. Whiteheart has only eight total receptions over his three seasons in the league. With that being said, the Browns could be in trouble if Fannin goes down with an injury.
Given the lack of depth at tight end, it’s smart for the Browns to focus on getting another one during next year’s draft. It’s extremely early in the season, but Green could be a possible fit for the Browns. We’ll see how the season progresses, but Green is a name to watch for Cleveland.
