Cleveland enters its 2026 regular season opener as one of the more significant underdogs across the entire NFL slate, according to the latest betting lines circulating this week. Howard Balzer broke down the full Week 1 board and found that the vast majority of games feature modest spreads, making the few larger lines stand out even more. The Browns’ matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars landed among that small group of games carrying a spread of a touchdown or more.

An 8-point spread places Cleveland’s game against Jacksonville as the second-largest line of the entire opening week, trailing only the Los Angeles Chargers’ 10-point favorite status over the Arizona Cardinals.

Jacksonville enters the opener with continuity working in its favor, returning the core of a roster that already had a full season together and now brings that same group into Year 2 under its current coaching staff.
