Some of the best news about the Cleveland Browns this week involved offensive guard Joel Bitonio‘s contract extension.
Bitonio, the beloved and longest tenured Browns player (since 2014), will remain with the Browns through 2025.
He deserves the money and respect because he is among the best at his position.
Browns offensive line coach Bill Callahan, an NFL veteran in every way, knows what he has with Bitonio.
Instead of waxing poetic about Bitonio’s career when asked about the extension, Callahan had a humorous response.
What Callahan Said
“Hopefully this will help him not to have to do any more commercials…”

Bitonio Has A Commercial
Those of us outside of Cleveland do not know of Joel Bitonio’s status as a commercial television star.
It is an ad for Spitzer Honda Cleveland.
A little YouTube digging revealed this gem of an ad.
Take a look.
The Spitzer Shuffle
This hilarious “dance” appears to be an offshoot of the popular mid-80s Chicago Bears Super Bowl shuffle.

Callahan Has A Point
Given what we’ve seen, Bill Callahan is right.
We don’t need to see Joel Bitonio in any more commercials.
Fans prefer to see him on the field each Sunday giving it everything he has.
GM Andrew Berry, after announcing the extension, had the highest praise for Bitonio.
NEXT: Projecting A Denzel Ward Contract Extension“After last season, we decided that one of our major football priorities would be to make Joel Bitonio a Brown for the rest of his career. Joel is one of our most decorated players and is the ideal personification of our ‘Tough, Smart, Accountable’ mantra. We value Joel’s high-level performance, leadership, consistency and durability…We are all excited about this extension and hopeful that at the end of his career we will all be looking forward to celebrating Joel’s gold jacket fitting in Canton.”
