Browns LB Mack Wilson Being Evaluated For Concussion

The Cleveland Browns were able to come away with the victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

It was a big win for the team as they now improve to 9-3 on the year.

Sadly, the Browns lost linebacker Mack Wilson in the fourth quarter to a head injury.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski mentioned postgame that Wilson is currently being evaluated for a concussion.

Another blow to Wilson who has already missed two games this season due to a knee injury.

It’s unclear if Wilson will be able to suit up against the Baltimore Ravens next week.

Losing Mack Wilson

The former fifth-round pick put together a solid rookie campaign with Cleveland last season.

He finished with 82 tackles, one sack, and one interception in 16 games (14 starts) in 2019.

Sadly, he has not been able to have that same type of impact this season.

Wilson has 26 tackles and two passes defended through nine games (five starts) in Cleveland this year.

The good news is that Wilson did have six tackles before exiting the game versus the Tennessee Titans.

Clearly, that same player from last year is still there, but injuries have likely held him back this season.

The loss of Wilson likely means that Malcolm Smith will be asked to step up, assuming Wilson is unable to play against Baltimore next week.

Smith has been playing well this season, so he’s not a downgrade whatsoever.

It’s obviously never good to lose any players, but the Browns should be fine with Smith in the meantime.

Wilson needs to get 100 percent healthy before getting back on the field again.

The Browns need the young linebacker to step up his game down the stretch of the season.

Browns fans should keep an eye out for updates on Wilson’s status throughout the week.
