The Cleveland Browns may have their fair share of problems right now, but they also have a group of strong young players. They have done well choosing the right rookies, and it’s the reason why their future could be bright.
It looks like the Browns did tremendous work in the draft last offseason, especially with the selection of Denzel Boston. The young wide receiver has been stellar during his first two games of the season.
Because of that, Field Yates said the league may have messed up by not putting enough faith in Boston.
“The NFL probably overthought it there on Denzel Boston. Big question mark on him was the speed. Well, he’s had two long touchdowns for speed. It was not an issue in the first two weeks. He’s big, smooth, and catches everything that comes his way. A wide receiver that can play in the slot as well, so there’s some versatility there. He was amazing in training camp. He was the talk of Browns training camp. On top of that, through the first two weeks, he’s the only wide receiver that’s not a part-time player. He’s playing 93-plus percent of the snaps. He’s on the field all the time. Talented guy,” Yates said.

He has already gotten plenty of opportunities during the first two games of the year, and he may have many more in the weeks ahead. The better he does, the more playing time he will receive from Todd Monken.
Boston was definitely a name to watch during the draft process, but there were concerns about him, as mentioned by Yates. Some analysts and experts were worried that he wouldn’t be fast enough to slide past the defense. So far, that hasn’t been the case.
As great as Boston has been during the first two weeks of the year, the Browns haven’t been consistent. Their second game was encouraging, but the first was best left forgotten.
Fans are hoping that something has clicked within the team and the Browns will look much better moving forward. Every season, there are some rookies who were overlooked by the rest of the league during the draft and perform better than expected.
Boston is already showing that other teams should have taken a chance on him.
