Cleveland Browns wide receiver Davion Davis has been the subject of several transactions in the past couple of days.
Yesterday, Davis was released by the Browns.

GM Andrew Berry signed Davis, 24, over the summer.
He was most recently in the Spring League.

In 2019, Davis was on the Vikings practice squad.
Davis Did Well In Training Camp
With Anthony Schwartz sidelined with an injury, Davis had more time to shine.
And he did.
He caught his first NFL touchdown in the preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

His late grandmother was among his biggest fans.
She died in 2011 but predicted Davis would be successful in football from the time he was born.
“When I was born she told my mom, ‘This is going to be the football player of our family. And it turned out to be true.”
When he scored his first NFL touchdown, Davis thought about his grandma.
“It was crazy. That was my first NFL touchdown, so I didn’t know how to celebrate. I just gave my grandma thanks and celebrated with the team. A dream come true honestly.”
Davis’s Suspension Is Behind Him
The two-game suspension was assessed by the NFL for substance abuse violations from his arrest in October 2019.
At the time Davis was a member of the Minnesota Vikings.
Davis was stopped for speeding but determined to have alcohol in his system.
Berry, Stefanski, and the rest of the coaching staff knew about the pending suspension upon his return to the NFL.
The suspension only applied to regular-season games which explained why he was able to compete in the preseason.
Will We See Davis In 2021?
It is anyone’s guess.
No one expected Jarvis Landry to go on IR.
Odell Beckham Jr.’s slow return was expected given the severity of his injury and the long timeline for recovery.
That leaves Rashard Higgins along with the younger players Donovan Peoples-Jones, Anthony Schwartz, and Demetric Felton to carry the load until OBJ and Landry return.
If all does not go well with this group or more injuries happen, it is possible we could see Davis this season.
