In announcing the moves, HSG’s chief operating officer, David Jenkins, said,
“Haslam Sports Group is dedicated to acquiring and developing top talent in all areas. We are confident Michele and Greg will provide incredible leadership in these positions.”
HSG is best known for its ownership of the Browns football team and the professional soccer team in Columbus.
But it also strives to promote Northern Ohio as a premier destination for special events.
In line with that commitment, they created the new vice president role to oversee their efforts.
The company also owns a stake in Misfits Gaming Group, an international E-sports and entertainment company.
Greg Rush Expands His Role Again
Greg Rush started with Haslam Sports Group in 2007 as the Browns’ Director of Finance.
He gradually took on greater responsibilities with HSG, involved with both of their major sports franchises.
Last year, Rush became the primary contact for operations, security, and maintenance of FirstEnergy Stadium.

That put him in charge of developing the Browns’ Covid response plan for fans and players.
Rush was also instrumental in the Browns’ 2016 renovation of their Berea facilities.
Outside of the Haslam Group, Rush serves as the Board Chair and Executive Committee Chair of Providence House.
Providence House provides shelter, care, and services to abused and neglected children and at-risk families.
Michele Powell Welcomed to HSG

These events include sports, concerts, and more across all the HSG-owned properties.
Powell was previously the senior VP and general manager of the Capital One Arena, working for Monumental Sports and Entertainment.
HSG’s new addition started as an MSE booking manager before rising to vice president of events.
