The Cleveland Browns have their biggest game of the season coming up on Sunday with a battle of 5-2 foes against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The winner will take first place in the AFC North and for the Browns, they have a chance to end a 22-game road losing streak in the regular season in Pittsburgh and could also sweep the Steelers for the first time in nearly 40 years.
It’s not a make-or-break game since the Browns have already proven themselves and would still be in a strong position if they drop to 5-3, but they have a chance to truly solidify themselves as playoff contenders. From what we have heard coming out of the locker room as well, it doesn’t sound like the Browns are scared of the moment and should be up for the challenge.
During his media session on Thursday, Jared Verse spoke confidently about the upcoming matchup. He let everyone know he isn’t worried about anyone on the other side.
“I’m not worried about Cam (Heyward), I’m not worried about their O-Line, I’m not worried about nobody they got on their team. We’re out there to go dominate. We’re about to make Pittsburgh ours on Sunday,” Verse said.

That’s about as close as you can get to guaranteeing a victory without actually doing it. This is also a pretty clear indication that Verse is healthy and ready to go for Sunday despite missing Wednesday’s practice with some knee swelling, so Browns fans can breathe a sigh of relief since he appears to be just fine.
Verse’s comments here were in response to Cam Heyward saying that Pittsburgh used Verse’s trash talk after their first meeting as bulletin board material. Doubling down like this will surely put a target on his back, so it’s going to be interesting to see how he backs it up on Sunday.
Verse may not have a sack yet this season, but his presence has been felt and he has made a consistent impact even without taking down the quarterback. The trade has been an unquestionable success and Sunday would be a great time for him to have his coming out party.
