It is no secret that the Cleveland Browns have spent the 2021 offseason looking for defensive help for Myles Garrett.
The Browns signed free agent Takk McKinley who spent the majority of his career with the Atlanta Falcons.
However, depth is something the Browns are after so the NFL draft is a logical place to look for it.
The latest candidate for the Browns is Penn State’s Jayson Oweh.
Who Is Jayson Oweh?
Oweh, a native of New Jersey, is 22 years old.
Jayson Oweh did not start playing football until he was a junior in high school.
He is 6’5″ tall and weighs 257 pounds.
Oweh was selected as a first-team All-Big 10 player in 2020.
In his 20 career games at Penn State, Oweh had 37 solo tackles.
20 of those tackles came in 2020.
He had 7 quarterback sacks in his career; 5 in 2019 and 2 in 2018.
Despite an excellent 2020 season, Oweh had no quarterback sacks.

NFL expert Gil Brandt thinks highly of Oweh.
He is not concerned that Oweh did not have any quarterback sacks in 2020.
“I think he’ll be the biggest surprise of the 2021 regular season. He didn’t have any sacks in 2020, but he did post seven in 2018-19, and he finished 2020 with 38 tackles, including 6.5 for loss. I think we’ll see his pass-rush ability translate into plenty of sacks in his rookie campaign.”
Jayson Oweh also addressed his sack-less 2020.
“Zero sacks? That’s obviously there. If you really are a savant of the game and watch film and don’t just look at the box score, you understand that’s not even who I am.”
Oweh Captured Attention On Pro Day
Jayson Oweh had a great Pro Day last week.
Though some expected him to break the 4.40 mark in the 40, he still surprised with his time.
He has been called “freakish” because of the speed and agility he has for a player of his size.

To be clear, Oweh may have been a first-round draft pick prior to his Pro Day, but some believe that may have sealed the deal.
Browns First Round Draft Pick
The Cleveland Browns have the 26th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft.
It is unclear if Oweh will still be available.
Other mock drafts have predicted that the Browns would take linebacker Jaelan Phillips from Miami.
Other Teams Interested In Oweh
The Buffalo Bills are also looking at Jayson Oweh.
If he drops to the second round, the Cincinnati Bengals are also rumored to be considering him with their fifth pick in the second round.
Stay tuned for more Cleveland Browns’ draft prospects as we march toward the 2021 NFL Draft, held in Cleveland, from April 29 through May 1.
