The Cleveland Browns still have to get through the remainder of the season.
They will do so without Deshaun Watson on the field, and that will give them an opportunity to assess their QB room and their depth.
Even so, most people can agree that the team’s quarterback of the future might not even be on the roster yet.
If anything, Jameis Winston and Dorian Thompson-Robinson will most likely compete for the QB2 spot.
Notably, it seems like the veteran has an edge in that race right now.
According to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, HC Kevin Stefanski has decided to roll with Winston as his starter to face the New Orleans Saints after their bye week.

Granted, Winston isn’t likely to be on a long leash, and even if he got the nod to start on Sunday, that doesn’t mean he’s in the clear to be the starter going forward.
Winston had been demoted to third-string/emergency quarterback, with Thompson-Robinson leap-frogging him on the depth chart.
Then, with both Watson and Thompson-Robinson getting hurt, the former No. 1 pick came to save the day, even leading the team to their second win of the season in his first start with the organization.
Winston fell back to Earth in the following campaign, all but killing all hopes of making the playoffs with a subpar performance vs. the Los Angeles Chargers.
Even so, the team feels like he gives them a better chance to compete, at least for the time being.
