By now, it is no secret that everyone has an opinion on Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield‘s performance on Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens.
The latest person to weigh in is former NFL quarterback and Hall-of-Famer Kurt Warner.
Warner took to Twitter to tease the Friday episode of QBConfidential which appears on his YouTube channel.
Mayfield’s performance will be discussed in depth, but here is what Warner said on Twitter.
“Almost finished w/@browns film from last week & anybody (including relatives) that wants to blame @bakermayfield for that game or say he didn’t play well or didn’t attack throws, is HUGELY mistaken! #ShowMeTheTape #BackItUp I’ll show u on @QBConfidentialFRIDAY!”

His Followers’ Reactions
Naturally because Mayfield is a polarizing figure, Warner got his share of comments either praising or disparaging his opinion and forthcoming analysis.
Warner saw the comments and replied with the following Tweet:
He said:
“I’m not saying he’s great… but nowhere near as bad as many make him out to be!! I just want accurate analysis… don’t throw out comments that you can’t back up! Yes Baker needs more consistency – but he also does a lot of good things!”

Kurt Warner Knows Football
It will be interesting to hear his full commentary on Friday.
Warner definitely knows football.
Perhaps he will key in on the dropped passes.
Maybe he has more in depth information on route running or other nuances the average fan does not see or know as well as he does.
Getting Healthier On Bye Week
At this point, fans need to hope that Mayfield is using the bye week to get healthier.
His level of play is far from where it was last season, and it is unclear if that is attributed to poor performance or to all of the injuries he’s had since Week 2.

Yes I agree with Kurt! So many critics an fans if you wish to call them that are an don’t see or get the up hill battle it’s been for Mayfield. That was a team loss against the Ravens. Baker is putting his heart an soul into playing to win with major injuries, OBJ distraction which is detrimental to game performance play along which endless injuries to substantial players on the Browns team. It’s said over an over that he’s just playing hurt for that big contract, no he’s not. He’s a leader an playing to WIN. He shown he is good an can play good football. Give him an extension an an decide next year if he’s the Browns franchise QB. Baker will agree with that “Let’s do it is his attitude!”

Of course it has nothing to do with a torn labrum! Of course anyone who thinks that is ignorant! I’ve had that injury and it’s excruciatingly painful! I also had a cervical AND lumbar fusion 2 days apart, and I’d do that every year for the rest of my life versus ONE shoulder surgery! And I do not throw a football for a living, nor do I have to worry about 300+ pounds landing on me! If you add up his other injuries, Only common sense tells you that it’s an accumulation of injuries that have hurt his season. Way to many injuries to the offensive line this year. Conklin may possibly be the best RT in football, but is the guy made out of paper or what?! Injuries to WR position hurts also. I know, I know, that’s the NFL, BUT it seems to be above the norm with all THREE of Cleveland’s pro teams!
Gary K says
Baker has been severely mistreated by Browns management. They are trying to devalue him for the purpose of negotiations. He should have not played since the shoulder injury. To judge him on his play now, and before surgery is not fair to Mayfield. A healthy Mayfield can take the Browns to the Super Bowl. Just remember Cleveland how long it took us to get this QB. Don’t want to return to the days of Brandon Weeden, Spurgeon Wynn,,etc

Don’t want to go back to Cody Kessler, Josh McCown, Charley Frye days
