The Cleveland Browns haven’t been living up to the preseason hype and now the pressure is starting to boil over.
Baker Mayfield has been under pressure already being sacked 21 times this season, but ran away from pressure from the media Wednesday in Cleveland.
Mayfield, who currently has 12 interceptions and tied for the league lead, became testy when a reported asked him about the failed 2 minute drive in the Browns 27-13 loss to the Patriots.
Browns reporter Tony Grossi asked Mayfield about the stalled drive, when Mayfield replied, “Stop saying ‘but.’ I just told you the clock was running and we had a penalty. You want to give them the ball back? No. You don’t play, you don’t know. That’s just plain and simple.”
“Was I happy with the drive? No, we didn’t score points,” Mayfield chirped. “That’s the dumbest question you could ask. What?”
Mayfield then appeared disgusted with Grossi and walked away toward his locker.

Mayfield later tweeted:
Everybody wants to hear the truth until they actually get it…. I am who I am and always have been. Don’t call it emotional when it’s convenient and then passion when it fits. I care about winning, so yeah I’m frustrated. If I was to act like it’s okay to lose, then y’all would

say that I’ve gotten complacent. My sense of urgency is at an all time high. And if I offend anybody along the way… that’s too bad

After a promising rookie season, Mayfield has struggled in his second year.
Mayfields passer rating of 67.8 is also ranked 31st in the NFL. Only Miami’s Josh Rosen (52.0) and Sam Darnold (66.2) are worse among those who are qualified.
Nevertheless, Wednesday marked another frustrating moment for the team in 2019.
