As we approach Week 4, there is already a desire to categorize the best and worst teams in the NFL.
All of the teams, including the Cleveland Browns, have not played much together yet to give us adequate sample sizes especially since many veterans rested during the preseason games.
However, this is still a valid discussion most notably in the AFC because the defending AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs are 1-2.
Mike Greenberg, host of ESPN’s Get Up, reiterated his months long position on the air on Tuesday.
Greeny believes the Browns are the best team in the AFC.
Has Been In Browns Camp For Months
Greenberg is not jumping on the bandwagon.
He has been talking about the Browns for months.
Just days after the 2021 NFL Draft, Greenberg stated that the 2021 Browns would be “the single biggest threat to Kansas City in the AFC.”
Mike Greenberg, host of Get Up called the Cleveland Browns the single biggest threat to the Kansas City Chiefs. "I believe the Browns are the single biggest threat to Kansas City in the AFC going into this season, and that’s inclusive of Buffalo and absolutely everybody else” 🤨

Is Greeny Right?
So it is well documented that Greenberg thinks the Browns are the best team in the AFC.
The question now becomes is he correct?
As mentioned before, it is too early to say.
This is a long 17-week regular season.
There is plenty of football to play and a lot can happen.
Arguably, the Browns have not played a single game to their full potential.
The offense and defense have not played at a high level in the same game.
We have seen glimpses of perfection but nothing that is considered a trend just yet.

For all of the talk about Kansas City, Buffalo, and even Cleveland, is everyone overlooking the last two undefeated teams in the AFC?
They are the Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos.
This is an unlikely pair that no one would have predicted to be the last ones standing in perfection in the AFC.
The fact is both teams are playing really well.
This is not a new thing for the Raiders; they are notorious for starting strong and fading about midway through the season.
That means the jury is out on them.
As for the Broncos, Teddy Bridgewater has been playing well, and maybe the team finally has a quarterback who can successfully lead this team.
That has not happened since Peyton Manning was there.
Back To The Browns
We will find out more about how good this Browns team is in Week 4.
They play a really good Minnesota Vikings team, also known as Browns Coach Kevin Stefanski’s old team.
He was the offensive coordinator, and his pupil Kirk Cousins is having a great year.

His current pupil Baker Mayfield is off to a good start but statistically does not match up to Cousins.
The Vikings could be 3-0; their 2 losses were by a grand total of 4 points.
While the Browns defense dominated Bears quarterback rookie Justin Fields last week, they will get a different test with Cousins.
As for Greeny’s theory that the Browns are the best team in the AFC, let’s wait until late January to fully assess its merits.
