The Cleveland Browns are busy in Berea.
Yesterday’s news of the Deshaun Watson trade has set the dominoes in motion to make more roster changes.
Earlier today, the Browns traded Case Keenum to the Buffalo Bills for a seventh-round pick and signed Jacoby Brissett.
Now, Mary Kay Cabot is reporting that the team also restructured Amari Cooper‘s contract signed earlier this week to create cap space.
It is estimated that $15 million was cleared.
That money is not spent yet, but it is freed up hopefully to be used to re-sign Jarvis Landry and Jadeveon Clowney.
#Browns re-do Amari Cooper to save $15M in cap space; they'll try to re-sign Jarvis Landry and Jadeveon Clowney, sources tells clevelanddotcom https://t.co/flNmDWi4hU

Where Will Landry Land?
Jarvis Landry requested a trade then a release from the Browns.
He visited Atlanta and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler confirmed reports that he was planning to sign with the Falcons if Deshaun Watson did.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler just confirmed our report here on SportsCenter. Landry and Fournette planned to join Watson in ATL. A.J. Green planned to as well. https://t.co/N4rOgdzecd

Now that Watson is with the Browns, everyone hoped that Landry would come back to Cleveland.
Jarvis Landry never wanted to leave Cleveland in the first place. Was never his decision. Lets see if they can agree to a number. #Browns

The Clowney Watch Continues
From the beginning of free agency, there was always an outside hope that Jadeveon Clowney would be in a Browns uniform in 2022.
The Browns offered him a deal and are awaiting a response from his team.
It is a two-year $24 million contract.
#Browns have offered FA Jadeveon Clowney a two-year deal worth $24M, per source. The 3x Pro Bowler has totaled at least nine sacks in three of his last four seasons (also with #Texans and #Seahawks). Good money for a good player. I’m told Cleveland is hoping for a decision soon.

Clowney wanted to test the market despite Myles Garrett wanting him to stay.
He had a great season that revitalized his career.
Jadeveon Clowney revitalized his career in Cleveland.
A return makes so much sense for both sides.

Conclusion
Getting one or both of these players back with the team would be huge.
Landry is a fan favorite hence the viral movement was initiated to #BringBackJuice.
As for the defensive end position, this is a need for the Browns.
Without Takkarist McKinley who is recovering from a torn Achilles, the depth chart consists of Myles Garrett and newly acquired Chase Winovich who comes over from New England in the Mack Wilson trade.
Depth is necessary, and right now, there is no one available who is more prepared or capable of lining up on the opposite side of Garrett and wreaking havoc on opposing offenses than Clowney.
Hopefully, the Browns are successful in re-signing both players.
