Report: Browns Will Make Minor “Tweaks” To Helmet With New Uniforms

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are the latest NFL franchise to make changes to their uniforms.

As we approach the 2020 NFL season, an assortment of teams have been calling for new uniforms, while some have put changes into place.

On Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released their latest edition.

According to Tom Withers of The Associated Press, the Browns will reveal their new look on April 15th.

Not certain if plans have changed, but #Browns new uniforms expected to be unveiled on April 15.

Here’s what we know.

“Tweaks” To The Helmet

According to Paul Lukas of Uni Watch, a decal manufacturer was working on “tweaks” to the Browns’ helmet.

The original helmet did not include a side logo, and will not include one moving forward.

According to Luka’s source, the helmet will receive a brown and white helmet strip.

In 2015, the Browns updated the stripe to include a “texturize faux carbon fiber pattern.”

When it comes to the #CLEVELAND #BROWNS new unis here is what I would like to see:

1. The classic arm stripes.

For a team with no logo on the helmet, this is the most icon identifying marking that they have. pic.twitter.com/mRmeSZJT3t

Last Year’s Comments

The team’s uniform has been criticized since being worn in 2015.

Owner Dee Haslam addressed the team’s uniforms last summer.

“We talk all the time that Cleveland has a certain way about them,” Haslam said at the time. “I think the uniform that we are in development will fit our team really well — just our look and our feel of who we are.”

The Haslam’s vowed to keep the helmet’s logo-less look no matter the final results of the jerseys during the redesign process.

“No. No. Never,” Dee Haslam said with a laugh when asked about redesigning the helmet. “Absolutely never.”

At the time, Haslam said that the process takes a while.

“I think there are still some things to be done. It takes a little while. Obviously, you have to really work hard to get every detail right. I still think they are working on the development part of it, but it is coming together.”

Now that the team has had a year to develop the new look, it appears that they like what they see.

Alright guys, this is my final version of my 2020 #Browns concept uniforms!

I’ll post each individual combination below, let me know what you guys think!

A Wish List

Barring a leak, we will have to wait until the new uniform is released.

Of course, there are some aspects fans would like to see in the new look.

In terms of uniforms, having the team’s name “Browns” back on the front of the jersey.

It would also be nice to see a white or grey face mask, as well as more than one white stripe on the shoulders.

As for the helmet, not having a logo has been traditional in the past, but this is a new era.

With the money outpoured into this offseason, the Browns want to start a new era with winning.

That means breaking a 17-year playoff drought.

Maybe, the old way hasn’t worked.

Maybe, it’s time for something new.
