The Cleveland Browns offensive line continues to hobble along in the early stages of the 2021 NFL season.
Center J.C. Tretter and left tackle Jedrick Wills are both listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
Tretter has been dealing with a knee injury; whereas, Wills has an injured ankle.

The good news, if there is any, is that each returned to practice on Friday.
#Browns LT Jedrick Wills Jr. (ankle) and center JC Tretter (knee) returned to practice today. CB Greg Newsome II (calf) is only player on active roster who isn’t practicing. He has been ruled out for Sunday. Practice-squad WR Ja’Marcus Bradley on bike today.

Offensive lineman Chris Hubbard is out for the game; he is missing his third straight week with a triceps injury.
O-Line Is Struggling
Wills is clearly not at 100% during the games.
That ankle injury is limiting his mobility.
The once rock solid offensive line is showing signs of wear only three games into the season.
Their level of play has come down, and it has shown up in different ways.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield is taking more hits, and the holes that Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are running through are fewer and farther between.
Things are not as seamless, and most of it is because of injured players.
Hopefully, these players can heal soon, but it is difficult to heal while playing.
Regardless, they will need to give the offense time on Sunday to move the ball and score against a Minnesota team that is capable of putting a lot of points on the board.
J.C. Tretter’s Take
"We're going to need to continue to improve week after week." – @JCTretter
— Cleveland Browns (@Browns) September 30, 2021
Tretter summarized the state of the offensive line.
He said pass protection needs to improve, and there have been yards left on the field that were not picked up in the running game.
Tretter also explained that improvement is a weekly process; each game the team needs to clean up their play in order to get to where they hope to be at the end of the season.
Injuries make it really hard to improve the level of play so let’s hope the Browns get and stay healthy so they can.
