A large number of fans may have given up on the Cleveland Browns’ season once they learned that Deshaun Watson was going to be their starting quarterback. Not only was that going to be a highly unpopular decision on its own, but it was also made much worse by Watson’s comments toward the fan base after getting booed during a preseason game.
Add to that the fact that when Watson was last able to play, during the 2024 season, Cleveland lost six of his seven starts. It has left many people searching for reasons to maintain their loyalty through another 17-game campaign.
Fortunately, the Browns do have several emerging young players who could be on their way to stardom, and Bleacher Report analyst Moe Moton has revealed one reason for hope for Browns fans, identifying rookie wide receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston.
“With complementary skill sets, wideouts Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion will make the Browns’ aerial attack worth watching as they develop during their rookie campaign,” Moton wrote.
Of course, their success will have a lot to do with Watson, so fans will be able to find some good among the bad. Concepcion and Boston could become the top two options in the passing game, which is likely to improve the offense overall.
A first-round pick from the 2026 NFL Draft, Concepcion was somewhat overshadowed by second-round pick Boston in minicamps and OTAs. But that started to change a bit in training camp before Concepcion broke out in a big way in the first preseason game. Against the Chicago Bears, he showed his speed and elusiveness, posting 72 all-purpose yards on just six touches, with a long punt return leading to a field goal, and a third-down conversion reception coming right before his 14-yard touchdown run.
Meanwhile, Boston did not follow up a strong offseason with a solid preseason. While he did enough during training camp to be named a starter, the big, surehanded target posted just one catch facing the Bears and Buffalo Bills.
Much more will be expected of him, beginning with the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars a week from Sunday, but both he and Concepcion have plenty of talent worth watching throughout the course of the schedule.
