Cleveland Browns fans may be finding out that there can be an uncomfortable side effect to success. When you go from hoping to win to expecting to win, there is an added disappointment that comes with any loss.
Browns fans experienced that feeling when they gave away their Week 4 game to the New York Jets. Now, there is a similar angst heading into their Week 7 meeting against the Tennessee Titans.
With that in mind, analyst Nathan Zegura revealed why Browns fans should try to enjoy the team’s success, saying there is something special going on this season.
“Enjoy this. The Browns are 4-2. They’re in first place of the AFC North. They beat the Steelers and the Ravens so far this year. They’ve beaten teams that have been pretty good. No, it’s not been pretty, but what’s beautiful about this team is that they have found a way to come through in the moments that matter the most. This defense is legit. There’s absolutely reason to believe that this defense can be a defense that plays like this all year long. They believe in each other. There’s something a little bit special about what’s going on here with the Cleveland Browns, and that’s fun,” Zegura said.

Times like these have been few and far between for the Browns, so perhaps fans just don’t know how to react. Cleveland has not been in first place this late in a season since 2014, when it was there heading into Week 11.
The Browns have a good chance to make it that far this year if they can handle their next three games on the road. In Week 8, they visit the Pittsburgh Steelers for a rematch of a Week 4 game that Cleveland won on a late field goal.
That could position this meeting with the Titans as a “trap game,” which is a lesson the Browns should have already learned based on their loss to the Jets. Then, in Week 9, Cleveland visits the New Orleans Saints before returning home to face the surging Houston Texans in Week 10.
Heading into the season, getting one win during this stretch would have been seen as an accomplishment. Now, anything less than two victories will be a letdown, with three a realistic goal.
Of course, a three-game losing streak would be devastating after such a good start. But fans should be confident that the team has come too far under head coach Todd Monken for that to happen.
So, on Sunday, Browns fans should watch fully confident in the idea that another win is about to happen, and their favorite team will still be in first place when they take on the rival Steelers.
