The Cleveland Browns were among the 24 NFL teams sitting home this past weekend watching the thrilling NFL divisional playoff games.
The ultimate goal for the players is to make it to and win the Super Bowl so being a spectator has to be bittersweet.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield is dealing with the double whammy of shoulder surgery on January 19 and watching on television the 2021 divisional round that he and the Browns were a part of in 2020.
Mayfield took to social media to convey his congratulations to the winning teams and share his thoughts.
“Congrats to all teams moving on… some extremely competitive football was played this weekend. Was entertaining to watch. Would absolutely much rather be playing, but was fun to watch.”

Mayfield wrote the tweet shortly after the conclusion of the Bills vs. Chiefs game that pitted his peers Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes against each other.
No doubt Mayfield saw the chatter on Browns’ Twitter regarding the role of the quarterback on a successful playoff team.
Shortly after the initial congratulatory tweet, he followed up by writing:
“Nevertheless… social media is toxic. Always kept my circle tight. Time to get back to that. Family and loved ones only.”
What He Meant
He definitely saw and ironically liked a tweet written by Dustin Fox specifically addressing Mayfield.
“Do you folks see why what you have at quarterback just isn’t good enough? #Browns”
Interesting the starting QB of a franchise liked this tweet considering he has me blocked. Hope he proves us wrong. https://t.co/VAg1K8eILt

Perhaps Mayfield is using this as bulletin board material next spring?
Browns Social Media Fatigue
After dealing with the social media issues discussed by Odell Beckham Jr. and Kareem Hunt’s dads as well as some questionable shared posts by Emily Mayfield, Browns’ social media fatigue is a real issue so it is probably a good idea for Mayfield to take a break from it.
This is the extent of what we want Browns’ Twitter to weigh in on for the next few weeks: Chris Hubbard’s pursuit of good wings in Cleveland.
What are some great wing spots in Cleveland?

We probably won’t be that lucky.
Nevertheless… social media is toxic. Always kept my circle tight. Time to get back to that. Family and loved ones only. 🤟🏼
