There Is Growing Trade Talk About One Browns Veteran

The Cleveland Browns’ new season is still very young, which means there is plenty of time for players to prove what they are capable of and how valuable they are. The first two games have raised many questions, but not provided numerous answers.

There are many concerns about wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, who has been with the team since 2024. As other wide receivers start to impress, there seems to be less space for Jeudy. That has some fans thinking about a trade.

However, Mary Kay Cabot explained that it’s too early to be talking about that.

“It’s a small sample size with what’s going on right now in this offense. And nobody’s really gotten rolling in it very much. When you look back to the first game, they had very few plays in the first half of that game. So, there haven’t been many, many opportunities. And once again, now, they don’t have much of a running game. So, you’ve got to be able to sustain drives on a consistent basis to get other people involved. Let’s give it a few more games and see how it goes. And then everybody can decide a little bit later. As they get towards the trade deadline, if it makes sense for them to move him, I’m sure that they would consider it. But for right now, I still think that Jerry can be a valuable member of this offense,” Cabot said.

Jeudy has been productive for the Browns, although his 2025 campaign wasn’t as strong as he would like. Still, he is now the center of some trade speculation.

That’s partly because it feels like the Browns have more WR support. They drafted both KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston. After just two games in 2026, Boston has been an explosive young player and has already racked up more than 150 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

This has numerous analysts and fans thinking that Jeudy may be on the chopping block via a trade. That may be the case, but it’s far too soon to be speculating wildly. The new wide receivers will have to sustain their progress, and Jeudy will need to remain a non-issue before a trade is possible.

There is no doubt that the Browns’ roster is changing, and Jeudy may eventually be a victim of that, but he seems to still have a spot on the roster, at least for now.
