Last offseason, the Cleveland Browns and edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney engaged in contract discussions.
However, Clowney decided to take a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans.
A year later, the Browns offered Clowney another contract and this time he decided to take it.
The signing of Clowney appears to be the cherry on top of an already successful offseason for the Browns.
From the beginning of free agency this seemed a perfect fit for both sides, but nothing can be guaranteed especially after last offseason.
The fact Clowney actually decided to come to Cleveland took some of his new teammates by surprise.
Welcome To Cleveland
Despite declining Cleveland’s offer last offseason, Browns fans will likely welcome Clowney with open arms.
The three-time Pro Bowl defensive end gives the Browns defense a major boost heading into the 2021 season.
Cleveland has arguably one of the best pass rushing duos with Clowney and Myles Garrett.
The former No. 1 overall pick gives Cleveland an incredibly scary second pass-rushing option.
Another former No. 1 overall pick, quarterback Baker Mayfield gave his thoughts on the Clowney signing in an Instagram post.

Getting another productive and Pro Bowl caliber player is always a great birthday present.
The Browns desperately needed to add another pass rusher to help take the pressure off Garrett.
Clowney has put together a couple mediocre campaigns over the last few seasons.
However, he does have over 250 tackles and 32 career sacks in his professional career.
It’s no secret that Clowney has the ability to help takeover a game on defense.
The Browns second-year wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones knows how dangerous Clowney and Garrett could be together.

The biggest negative about Clowney is the fact he continues to get injured.
He has only played one full 16-game season during his professional career.
When healthy, Clowney is a dangerous threat on defense and there is no doubting that.
He will certainly get plenty of chances with Garrett getting double-teamed quite often.
The future is bright in Cleveland and the Browns players appear to be excited about the addition of their new pass rusher.
