The Cleveland Browns were among a group of teams who attempted to claim offensive lineman David Moore off of waivers.
Reportedly, the Chicago Bears, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Jets were also in hot pursuit of Moore.
Good to hear the #Bears were in on David Moore, but disappointing that the waiver wire didn’t play in their favor.
I had a fifth-round grade on Moore out of Grambling State this year. Would’ve been a nice depth add for their OL. https://t.co/N1zqjDTnzV

New Jets G David Moore was a popular player on waivers, as the Bears, Browns and Raiders also attempted to claim him.
The Jets had the highest priority and got a developmental OL prospect.

Because the Jets had the highest priority, Moore is now a New York Jet.
We've claimed OL David Moore and waived OL Teton Saltes.

Who Is David Moore
Why is there so much hoopla around David Moore?
Who is he?
Moore is a 6’1″ 330 pound 2021 undrafted free agent out of Grambling State.
He is from Little Rock, Arkansas where he only played two years of high school football.
Moore played in 24 career games at Grambling from 2017-2019.
Because Grambling postponed its 2020 fall season until spring 2021, Moore opted not to play and focused on the draft.
Tony Pauline’s draft profile of Moore reads as follows:
“Wide-bodied, explosive blocker who shows ability at the line of scrimmage and at the second level. Sets with a wide base, bends his knees, and shows strength at the point. Stays square, seals defenders from the action, and turns them from the line. Fights with his hands throughout the play, shows the ability to slide in space, and keeps his feet moving.”
Moore turned heads at this year’s Senior Bowl and has been working with former Houston Oilers offensive lineman Bruce Matthews to improve his level of play as an offensive lineman.
At the Senior Bowl, Moore showed his versatility by also taking snaps at the center position though he only played at the guard position at Grambling.
He was signed by the Carolina Panthers but ultimately waived on Saturday, August 7.
What Are The Browns Up To
The Browns are looking for depth and youth to round out the practice squad.
Given the bevy of teams interested in Moore, the Browns are not alone in this pursuit.
