Cleveland Browns: Studs And Duds From Week 16 Loss

The Cleveland Browns disappointing season continued to be disappointing.

The Browns were defeated by the Baltimore Ravens 31-15 on Sunday.

The Ravens dominated nearly every aspect of the game while also clinching the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

With very limited and numerous nominees, here are your Browns studs and duds from Sunday’s loss.

Stud: Damarious Randall

The Browns safety had been producing the last couple of weeks.

Last week, Randall tied his once season-best of eight tackles against the Arizona Cardinals.

This past week, Randall had a season-best 10 combined tackles.

For a defense that gave up 481 total yards of offense, Randall was the lone bright spot on the stat sheet.

Stud: Jarvis Landry

Landry finished the game with 7 receptions and 74 yards.

Last week, Landry surpassed the 1,000 yard receiving mark for the first time since 2016, and the third time in his career.

Landry’s gain of 33 yards was the biggest play in the game.

For an offense that was limited to 192 passing yards, Landry certainly did his best to get the Browns going.

Dud: Odell Beckham Jr

Beckham Jr finished with 4 receptions and 44 yards.

Odell Beckham Jr was supposed to be a star.

Instead, it was the ninth straight week that Beckham Jr. finished below 100 yards receiving.

He did make the end zone for the first time in three weeks, but it was his on-camera attitude that drew attention from social media.

Beckham told reporters after the game that he was upset with the officials warning him, following his touchdown celebration.

However, many believe that Beckham threw a fit over his head coach’s play-calling on the two-point conversion.

His frustration mirrors the theme of the Browns’ season.

It was the second week in a row that a receiver gave Kitchens the business.

It was just last week that Landry gave Kitchens an ear full over his playing calling.

With a 6-9 record, a dysfunctional offense, and a talented roster on paper, it’s appearing that Kitchens could be done next week.

Dud: Nick Chubb

Chubb had a disappointing 15 carries and only 45 yards in the game.

We understand that the Ravens are a pretty good defense.

The Ravens rush defense is fourth-best in the league (93.0 ypg).

Still, Chubb is the league’s rushing leader, and one would have expected that Chubb would have produced like the best running back in the league.

The Browns needed Chubb to deliver on offense.

Simply put, he didn’t.

Dud: Browns fans and their gestures

Nearly two years ago, Mayfield was leading Oklahoma to a magical season and a Heisman trophy.

Known to be flamboyant, Mayfield was seen on every news outlet for flipping off Kansas Jayhawk players.

It all started when the Kansas captains refused to shake his hand at the coin flip.

Mayfield did not start next week’s game at the time.

Flash forward to the present, the tables reversed.

The fans were frustrated with the team’s performance as they booed the Browns players.

Mayfield took exception and waved them off.

Their reaction was “Mayfield-like.”

Obj is for sure a dud after this game. He hasn’t produced like I had hoped through the season. Here’s hoping next year is a different story. I am happy with Damarious Randall though, he continues to play like the beast that he is.
