When it came to running the football in the 2019 season, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt were among the league’s best
The Cleveland Browns finished 12th overall in rushing with Nick Chubb finishing 2nd in the NFL in rushing yards with 1,494.
It now appears the coach behind that great duo will be retained.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, new head coach Kevin Stefanski will retain running backs coach Stump Mitchell.
Kevin Stefanski plans to retain #Browns RB coach Stump Mitchell, league source says. He’s done an outstanding job with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt and Stefanski wants to build on that success.

Mitchell joins Mike Priefer as another member of Freddie Kitchens’ coaching staff that was retained from last season.
Mitchell played in the NFL for ten seasons as a running back himself before he began his coaching career.
Mitchell is also a very respected coach around the NFL with plenty of experience.
He previously coached in Seattle (1999-2007), Washington (2008-2009), Arizona (2012-2016) and Jets (2017-2018).
With Stefanski retaining Mitchell, the coaching staff is starting to take shape.
