Sammy Watkins Doesn’t View The Browns As Competition

Here we go again.

It’s another week where the Cleveland Browns are apparently being taken lightly by an upcoming opponent.

The Browns went through this last week with Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster‘s now infamous comment “The Browns is the Browns,” that served as a rallying cry for the team.

Now it appears Kansas City Chiefs’ WR Sammy Watkins is throwing shade the Browns’ way.

Sammy Watkins’ Tweets

It started as a Twitter discussion as the events of the Steeler-Browns game were unfolding.

Watkins started the discussion by tweeting:

This is a video game wth is going on this is weird I’m speechless pretty sure the whole world is shocked bc I never seen anything like this in my life not in the NFL.! 😳😳😳

“This is a video game [what the hell] is going on[?]  This is weird. I’m speechless. Pretty sure the whole world is shocked [because I’ve] never seen anything like this in my life. Not in the NFL.”

That’s harmless and probably the reaction of many others watching the Browns jump out to a 28-0 lead on the Steelers at the end of the first quarter.

The Downward Spiral

Someone tweeted back at Watkins about next week’s competition with the Browns.

I wouldn’t go that far lol..!

Watkins responded by saying, “I wouldn’t go that far lol..!”

Watkins in 2020

Sammy Watkins had one of his least productive years in 7 seasons as an NFL player.

He caught 37 passes for 421 yards and scored 2 TDs.

Nevertheless, the Chiefs are a fantastic team, a fact no one disputes, so all of them including Watkins are a force to be reckoned with.

Bulletin Board Material

Let’s hope the bulletin board at Berea is large because material can constantly be added to it.

In addition to JuJu Smith-Schuster who got the Browns’ bashing started last week, his teammate and fellow WR Chase Claypool also got in on the act.

Instead of acknowledging his team’s lackluster performance on Sunday night, he immediately predicted that the Browns would get clapped on Sunday.

According to Claypool, this is “all good.”

Browns Vs. Chiefs

All of the talk in the world doesn’t matter when the whistle blows and the game begins on Sunday at 3:05 pm EST.

We can expect a coaching duel between the veteran Andy Reid and rookie Kevin Stefanski.

The Browns need to come up with a way to stop Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill, to name just two of the Chiefs’ offensive weapons.

Clearly, oddsmakers are erring on the side of Sammy Watkins and Chase Claypool.

The Chiefs are 10 point favorites in the game.

This Browns team faced many difficult tests these season so this is a great opportunity for them to show what they have against the defending Super Bowl Champions.

Win or lose, the Browns are thrilled to be in the second week of the playoffs.

The team will certainly use this season’s experiences as building blocks for next season and beyond.
