The 2019 season did not go according to plan for the Cleveland Browns and the organization as a whole is looking to bounce back in 2020.
The Browns have made some major improvements this offseason and are hopeful for better results.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski brings new hope to the Browns organization going forward.
The Browns struggled in just about every area last season, but two stars have high odds for bounce-back seasons in 2020 according to BetMGM.

Baker Mayfield
It’s not shocking to see quarterback Baker Mayfield among the top players expected to bounce back next season.
As of right now, Mayfield is tied for 10th in odds to win Comeback Player of the Year, according to BetMGM.
His rookie season was a huge success, but Mayfield followed that up with a sophomore slump in 2019.
Mayfield threw for 3,827 passing yards with 22 touchdowns and 21 interceptions last season.
His 21 picks were the second-most in the league behind Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston.
The Browns were unable to move the ball on offense, but part of that wasn’t Mayfield’s fault.
Head coach Freddie Kitchens made plenty of questionable calls and was let go after the season.
Mayfield is expected to bounce back with a new head coach and a few new weapons on offense.
Myles Garrett
The other Browns player that landed on the list was defensive end Myles Garrett.
He’s a little further down on the list, but could use a rebound campaign as well.
Garrett was actually playing well, but sadly only played in 10 games in 2019.
Garrett finished the season with 29 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks.
The good news for Cleveland is that Garrett is allowed to return to game action this season.
There’s a great chance that he’ll be able to bounce back, assuming he can stay out of trouble this time.
The Browns defense took a hit without him, so hopefully Garrett can stay on the field in 2020.
2017 1st round edge defenders and sacks through three seasons:
1:1 – Myles Garrett – 30.5
1:14 – Derek Barnett – 14.0
1:22 – Charles Harris – 3.5
1:26 – Takkarist McKinnley – 16.5
1:28 – Taco Charlton – 9.0
1:30 – T.J. Watt – 34.5 #Steelers— Tommy Jaggi (@TommyJaggi) May 1, 2020
Can They Win The Award?
It’s always tough to predict who is going to win awards going into a season, but both these players do have good odds.
Mayfield has some of the best weapons in the league with Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry, and Austin Hooper.
Hopefully, new head coach Kevin Stefanski can help Mayfield make the right adjustments.
Mayfield threw 27 touchdowns with only 14 interceptions during his rookie campaign, so the talent is there.
It’s about finding confidence in himself and having better decision making with the ball.
Garrett might actually have a better chance to win the award despite what the odds say.
He finished with 13.5 sacks during the 2018 season and that was through 16 games.
In 2019, Garrett recorded 10 sacks in just 10 games, so he was on pace for a monster season.
The sky’s is the limit for Garrett if he’s able to stay out of trouble and play a full season in 2020.
Regardless, both players should bounce back under a new system, so Browns fans should be excited about the future in Cleveland.
